Last October 9, 2009, the Army Navy Team (BSN ’05, ’06 and ’08 alumni members and BSN faculty) bagged the crown in the long-awaited championship game of the first Fr. Louis Chauvet Basketball Cup held at the St. Paul University Iloilo Multi Purpose Gymnasium.

    In the male category of the first Fr. Louis Chauvet Basketball Cup, the BSBA alumni Team got the second place, followed by the BSBA and BSIT ’09-’10 Team and BSN ’06, ’07 and ’08 Team in third and fourth respectively. For the female category, the Seniors ’10 earned the gold medal, followed by the Juniors ’10 Team with the silver medal and the CFP ’10 in bronze medal.
  
    The first Fr. Louis Chauvet Basketball Cup was organized by Mr. Francis Valencia, Student in-charge, and Mr. Ian Ver Pendon, Faculty in-charge, with the support of Mrs. Mary Jane de Gracia, Cultural and Sports Moderator, and Sr. Carolina Agravante, SPC, Overall Head and President of St. Paul University Iloilo. The said activity aimed to foster camaraderie among the Paulinian students, faculty, staff and alumni, and to honor Fr. Louis Chauvet, the founder of the Sisters of St. Paul of Chartes, through sports and teamwork.

    This three-month sports event which started last August 2009 was composed of 10 male teams: Kopiroti Team (BSN, BSBA and BSIT BSHRM ’09-‘10 sophomores), BSN ’06, ‘07’ and ’08 alumni members,  Army Navy Team (BSN ’05, ’06 and ’08), BSBA alumni members, BSN ’10 Team, CFP ’09-‘10 Team, BSBA and BSIT Team, BSHRM Team, AIC and NFD Team (BSN ’09) and the Maintenance. Five female teams also participated and they are as follows: CFP ’09-’10 Team, Sophies ’09-’10 Team, Juniors ’09-’10 Team, Seniors ’09-’10 Team and the Faculty/ Alumni Team.
